Building Organizational Clarity —
People, Structure, and the Path to Greater Impact

Presenter: Jennifer Lehman, President and CEO, Mission Advancement

Join NonProfit CEO Council for Building Organizational Clarity — People, Structure, and the Path to Greater Impact
Presenter: Jennifer Lehman, President and CEO, Mission Advancement

This interactive teaching session delivers practical, high-value content that equips nonprofit CEOs and CFOs to lead their organizations with greater clarity, alignment, and impact.

This session will explore organizational structure through the lens of transparent relationships and tools from the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS) — one of the most widely adopted frameworks for helping leadership teams get more of what they want from their organizations. We will draw direct connections to the realities nonprofit CEOs and CFOs face every day: limited resources, mission-critical roles, donor accountability, and the challenge of doing more with less.

Nonprofit CEOs and CFOs operate at the intersection of mission and margin. They carry the dual burden of stewarding limited financial resources while also developing and retaining the people who deliver on that mission.

Too often, talented staff are in the wrong roles — or leaders themselves are stuck doing work that belongs to someone else. The result is burnout at the top, bottlenecks in the middle, and decisions that never quite get made.

This session gives CEOs and CFOs a practical framework and hands-on tools to address this head-on — and to lead their organizations with greater structural health.

Learning Objectives
Participants will leave this session equipped to:

  • Understand and apply the core principles of organizational structure using the EOS framework — in a nonprofit context
  • Assess their team, especially in key financial and programmatic roles
  • Use the Delegate and Elevate™ tool to identify where CEO and CFO time and energy should be focused vs. delegated
  • Diagnose structural gaps that may be limiting organizational performance, financial sustainability, or staff retention
  • Take immediate next steps toward greater clarity, accountability, and alignment on their leadership team
